Writing Real Characters In Your Fiction Stories

One of my favorite writers is J.A. Jance speaks about her writing process. She writes about people and places that she has known in situations that she has some experiences with. This type of writing resonants with more of her readers. So much so they have asked her how this character or that character is going to do about this or that problem.
