I don't know about you but I love a good book cover. It should reflect the genre in colors and style and the elements presented should have some representation of what is inside the story. I do love to tinker with graphics and I have created several book covers over the last 10 years. As with anything else it takes time and practice to get it just about right. To that end I have put up three of the romance book covers I have created over the last couple of years for the newly formed - National Excellence in Romance Cover Contest NERCC . I may do two or three more if I can. The contest closes on 08312024 if there is anyone else out there who would like to enter. STAY-TUNED - next month we might have to solicit votes for our covers.   

Colin Dodds - Debit Credit Theory (Accounting Rap Song) After receiving the bad new this morning that the largest scholarship I was award was being taken away from me because I have too many college credits without degrees was a heart-breaker. They even took away one I didn't know I was being considered for but I did get this past summer. I hope they won't take that one away too. I would owe the college $700 which I simply cannot afford. The accounting course is exactly what I thought it was about and I already have over 30 credits in accounting at all 4 levels and the Business Advisor at FSCJ should have given me credit for that course as well as the marketing. My professor even suggested that I test out of the class for $45. It is a difficult decision between getting an easy A - and incuring more college credit hours which may affect when I try to get my Masters later. So I am waiting to hear back from my advisor and the scholarship committee to see if I will be continuing fu

I have always been about protecting our Florida State Parks by encouraging more and more people to volunteer their time and talents to learn about our Florida environment and wildlife and teaches that to others. With the new proposals happening this month by government greedy politicians and land developers we say: KEEP IT PARKS FREE of commercial developments such as 350 room lodges, golf courses and pickle ball courts - We got a response from the Florida State Parks Foundation and now they are having to find new spaces to hold the meetings. If you have worked, workamped or even visit one or more of our Florida State Parks I hope you will join us in defeating this new wanton destruction proposal of lands that are supposed to be protected from greedy developers and our politicians who want to profit from them.

Contact every member of the Florida State Parks Foundation about the recent news article stating that there will be meetings at various state parks around the state on August 27, 2024 - voice your opinion about their proposed changes to add large resorts, golf courses and pickleball courts in our state parks! See the end of the movie for the list of places you can go. They are not having any video conferences about this you must appear in person. Each person is supposed to get 3 minutes to talk. Let's fill these meeting places to the rafters! Staff members of the Division of Recreation and Parks are apparently set to scatter across the state — from Miami to the Panhandle — for meetings scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. that Tuesday. Meetings for six parks in Eastern Standard Time will occur simultaneously. Meetings at two Panhandle-area parks, in a different time zone, will start an hour later. I do enjoy these podcast sessions with fellow authors and others in the book industry. The podcasts themselves are fairly easy as I just connect with the guest on Zoom and we talk about books, writing, and whatever else they want to let people know about for twenty to thirty minutes.  The hard part comes afterwards as I have to edit out some of the parts, take out the ums, and uhs, and then add in the captions. Those have to be read through to make sure that the software understood what was really being said. Then I have to video the introduction and, add in any book covers and websites along the bottom of the screen. That generally takes about 8 to 10 hours. Then I upload the final video to YouTube, the audio files to Apple and Spotify. A twenty minute video can sometimes take up to 2 hours to upload and the audio files about 5 to 20 minutes or so depending on the internet traffic. I am still with a rural internet provider and the best upload speed I can get in the middle of the night
